Justin Verlander, a Tigers alumnus playing for the Houston Astros, posts a video on Twitter of himself throwing his first pitch on Wednesday since Tommy John surgery last September. The operation repaired a torn right elbow ligament.
Ceremonial first pitch after surgery. Let’s goooooo!! Happy St pattys day. pic.twitter.com/4H1iX4cISr— Justin Verlander (@JustinVerlander) March 17, 2021
Verlander, 38, is likely to sit out the season as he recovers. It normally takes 12 to 14 months to heal.
Some Tigers fans hope JV finishes his career back in Detroit. Wishful thinking?
