Interim Detroit Police Chief Todd Bettison announced. Wednesday that an 8-year veteran of the Detroit Police Department has been placed on "no gun" administrative duty after ballistic reports found she had hit two bystanders while firing at an armed individual while responding to a block party in June on the city's west side, WXYZ reports.
The station reports that the department learned of the officer's alleged actions Monday, following an investigation into the June 1 party in the 16500 block of Trinity Street where officers responded to a shootings.

Investigators recovered 93 shell casings from the scene, with the officer firing five of them — three of which struck people — Bettison said. Two women, ages 20 and 23 were shot and suffered non life-threatening injuries, while a man who Bettison said had pointed a pistol at the officer also was shot and wounded.
