Jennifer Harris, a 39-year-old manager of a McDonald's on 9 Mile Road in Eastpointe, was fatally stabbed Thursday morning following an argument with a female co-worker, Fox 2 reports.
Eastpointe police said the co-worker was sent home early after the dispute but later returned with a knife and allegedly stabbed Harris, a single mom of six.
Officers responded to the restaurant after receiving a call about a stabbing and a gunshot.
A customer who witnessed the attack fired a shot in an attempt to stop it, but no one was hit, police said in a statement. Fox 2 reports the man was going through the drive-thru window and fired a shot in the air to try and stop the attack.
The co-worker tried to flee but was detained by the customer, according to police. Eastpointe officers then arrested her.
Harris was rushed to a local hospital, where she died.
